Girdys Gee Gees is the home of Thoroughbred news, opinion and general flannel.
I hope I can keep you up to date with latest news from the horseracing industry and express my views, for what they are worth, on the world of horseracing, occasionally vent my spleen in regard to racing matters that are annoying me as well as posting the odd random musings; oh yes and tipping a few winners along the way. Be it Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood, Newmarket, the Cheltenham Festival or a class seven handicap at Wolverhampton on a wet and windy winters evening Girdys Gee Gees will be keeping an eye out for potential winners and you will read about them first right here at www.girdysgeegees.com.
My love of horses goes back to a child learning to ride in the 80's and as I grew slightly too large to be a jockey as a teenager, by seven or eight stone or so, I found myself becoming more and more interested in betting on horses rather than sitting on them.
I do not claim to be an expert of any note but I have spent more time than is healthy in betting shops and at racetracks for over thirty years and it is not unknown for me to find a winner or two.
The racing of horses can be traced far back in history with records indicating that horse racing occured in ancient Babylon. Many a man has looked for the perfect system, and to the best of my knowledge all have failed, but you can make money at the game with some hard work, patience and the odd dose of good luck. This site has been created to do just that with all bets logged for the world to see.
The highs of a winning day and the lows of losing your last couple of bob on a wet Tuesday afternoon are all part of the game - and I love the game.
