Ulysses and Order Of St George Feature as 20 Stand Their Ground For Arc

Ulysses, Highland Reel and Order Of St George are among 20 horses to stand their ground following the first forfeit stage for Sunday's Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly.

Odds-on jolly Enable did not feature among Monday's list as connections still have to supplement her on Wednesday at a cost of €120,000.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained Ulysses has struck twice at Group One level this season, landing the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown and the Juddmonte International at York. The four-year-old son of Galileo is second-favourite across the boards for Europe's premier middle-distance prize behind John Gosden's brilliant filly Enable.

Highland Reel and Order Of St George, second and third respectively behind former stable companion Found in last year's Arc, spearhead a seven-strong team for Aidan O'Brien. Highland Reel won the Coronation Cup and the Prince of Wales's Stakes earlier in the season, but was no match for Enable when fourth in the King George. Order Of St George was last seen sauntering to his second success in the Irish St Leger at the Curragh. O'Brien could also call upon Highland Reel's full-brother Idaho, Seventh Heaven, Irish Derby and St Leger hero Capri, Cliffs Of Moher and four-times Group One-winning filly Winter.

Andre Fabre, who has saddled a record seven Arc winners, has Doha Dream, Cloth Of Stars and Plumatic in the mix. Jean-Claude Rouget's Brametot and Alain de Royer-Dupre's Zarak are other major contenders for the home team. Dschingis Secret represents German trainer Markus Klug, and Satono Diamond carries the hopes of Japan.
