Treasure Time update May 2024

Treasure Time, the three-year-old gelding I have a handful of shares in with the Raceshare syndicate, was pulled-out of his planned seasonal debut at Salisbury last weekend due to the heavy going. William Haggas and the team at Somerville Lodge have him entered in four races over the coming days and are eager to get his three-year-old campaign underway. He could run at at Nottingham in the Racing TV Novice Stakes (6f) or at Leicester in the Ronan Keating Ladies' Day 15th June EBF Maiden Stakes (7f) with the Tips For Every Race At raceday-ready.com Maiden Stakes  (6f) at Newcastle on Sunday and the Watch On racingtv.com Novice Stakes (7f) at Catterick on Monday also options.

Ted Durcan has been riding him in work a fair bit recently and is reportedly happy with him. The horse he was second to at Kempton on his second start back in October, and his last run, Ciro Di Marzio remains entered in the Irish Derby whilst third that day Cynosure has won since. The form of his debut run at Newbury back in June 2023 looks strong, winner Iberian ran in the 2,000 Guineas having won the G.2 Champagne Stakes last year, and in total the race has thrown-up seven subsequent winners; surely he is a winner in waiting.

Update 9th May

Treasure Time will not be declared at Leicester or Nottingham and Catterick on Monday is currently the preferred option of the team at Sommerville Lodge though they will keep an eye on the declarations for the Newcastle race. William Haggas is keen to find the right race for the three-year-old's seasonal debut.

Further Update 10th May

Treasure Time will make his seasonal debut at Newcastle on the Sunday afternoon/evening card in the  in the Tips For Every Race At raceday-ready.com Maiden Stakes (Class 3) over 6 furlongs at 3:42pm. There are 11 runners, he has been drawn in stall 8 and Cieren Fallon takes the ride.
