The horseracing week ahead and the Cambridgeshire meeting at Newmarket

This week's horseracing builds to the big Cambridgeshire meeting at Newmarket from Thursday and we have a couple of Group One races in the Cheveley Park Stakes and the Middle Park Stakes along with the famous Cambridgeshire Handicap to look forward to plus plenty of other good pattern races over the three days. As well as the usual coverage on the dedicated channels ITV will be at HQ for the three days so plenty of action on the free to air channels as well for you armchair punters; all being well 1,000 fans are set to be on the Rowley Mile as racing's test events continue. Benbatl should go for the Group Two Joel Stakes on Friday having been pulled out of his engagement at Goodwood in the Celebration Mile recently (I was on ante-post); I will be keeping an eye of the weather though as if they get the rain he may not run again.

I was planning on having a bet today with the Charlie Appleby trained Act Of Wisdom due to run at Wolverhampton but he doesn’t run. The chestnut colt might run at Goodwood Wednesday so do remember to come back in case there is a bet to be had.
