The horseracing week ahead

It is fair to say this week is pretty much all about the weekend with a number of star names due to line-up at Cheltenham for Trials day fixture on Saturday which now includes eight races after the rescheduling of the Clarence House Chase from Ascot's abandoned card on Saturday. Jonbon is the headline grabber among six entries for the rearranged Clarence House Chase with defending champion Editeur Du Gite also amongst the entries. A plethora of the usual suspects could line-up for the Grade Two Cleeve Hurdle including Paisley Park, Dashel Drasher, Champ and Maries Rock. Willie Mullins is likely to send a few over from Ireland with Impaire Et Passe likley to run in the Grade Two Unibet Hurdle perhaps the most eye-catching.

The Dubai Carnival really warms up at Meydan (excuse the pun) with a cracking card on Friday including the G.1 Jebel Hatta and G.1 Al Maktoum Challenge on a card with no less than seven Group races and a Listed heat to enjoy; the meeting being marketed as Fashion Friday.

Across the pond we also have the Grade One  Bet Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational Stakes Turf and Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes presented by Baccarat (Dirt) at Gulfstream Park on Saturday evening.

No bets for me on Monday but I have a few pencilled in, especially for Friday and Saturday, so do check back.

Be lucky
