The horseracing week ahead
Plumpton and Ayr are abandoned on Monday leaving the only horseracing in the UK at Wolverhampton under the lights on the Tapeta this evening; hopefully it won't be the same story as the week goes on but there are plenty of weather warnings in place.
Kempton hosts the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Hyde Stakes over a mile Wednesday evening in which three-year-old Choisya will look to add to his recent track and trip win and we may also see Group Three winner Tempus.
The two-day Tingle Creek fixture at Sandown kicks off on Friday with a couple of Grade Two races on the card. The card is larger than planned on Saturday, now eight races with an 11.35 start, with the Grade One Fighting Fifth Hurdle now being run at the Esher track, the meeting at Newcastle having been lost to the weather at the weekend. We may see Constitution Hill though that is now unlikely it appears from what Nicky Henderson has been saying but we could see Shishkin somewhat surprisingly over the Hurdles for the first time since winning the Supreme Novices' in 2020. The Grade One Tingle Creek will see Jonbon look to cement his position as one of the very best over chasers over two-miles having won the Shloer Chase last month; he is already 1-3! They also of course have the Grade One Betfair Henry VIII Novices' Chase on a card that should see plenty of star names on show. They also race at Aintree over the weekend with the 3m2f Becher Handicap Chase the main event up on Merseyside.
Be lucky
