The horseracing week ahead
It is a quiet start to the week with just the three meetings in Britain. Tuesday sees more entries for the Cheltenham Festival revealed such as those going for the Mares' Novices' Hurdle and Mares' Chase and we may have a clearer picture for some of the big races with scratchings made from the Grade One Novice contests. The horseracing doesn't really warm-up till midweek and there may be a bet to be had on the All-Weather Wednesday followed by a decent card at Sandown Park Thursday. The Dubai Carnival out at Meydan continues Friday with a plethora of handicaps on their card.
Come the weekend Ascot takes centre stage. L'Homme Presse featured in the five entries made on Monday for the Grade One 2m5f Betfair Ascot Chase on Saturday. The Venetia Williams-trained nine-year-old made an impressive return to the track following thirteen months off when winning last month's 2m6f Fleur de Lys Chase at Lingfield and 2022 G.1 Brown Advisory Novices' Chase winner looks to hold solid claims.
