The horse racing week ahead greatly affected by the weather

There was about 4-inches of snow down at Triple G Towers overnight and it's no surprise that it has affected and will no doubt continue to affect the horse racing this week.
Monday's all-weather meeting at Lingfield will go ahead after the track passed a morning inspection, but the snow and ice continues to claim fixtures with Catterick and Newbury forced to cancel their meetings today. After just three meetings took place at the weekend, with the second day of Cheltenham's December meeting on Saturday the biggest loss, it looks as though they might not be much to look forward to this week. Catterick and Wincanton on Tuesday are already abandoned with the card at Newbury on Wednesday also already cancelled. It will be all about the All-Weather for a few days at least, but fingers crossed the big meeting at Ascot will be able to go ahead come the weekend with a possible re-match between Champ and Paisley Park in the G.1 Long Walk Hurdle the big race on Saturday.
The only horse on my radar for Monday was Pherenikos but the half-brother to 2000 Guineas winner Coroebus is long odds-on up at Wolverhampton this evening in his attempt to get off the mark at the third time of asking.
Stay warm, and be lucky
