The horse racing week ahead and a brief look back at the weekend

I didn't quite get it right over the weekend a very good example being Baaeed who was impressive in his victory on Group One debut in the Prix du Moulin at ParisLongchamp; unfortunately I had doubled him with his brother Hukum who got turned over at Kempton!

On to this week and it all builds to the St Leger meeting at Doncaster and of course the final Classic of the season the St Leger. I am all about Hurricane Lane for the big race on ante-post at 11-4, he is now generally 8-11. All appears to be well and Charlie Appleby seemed very happy with his charge in interviews at the weekend so fingers are crossed the colt gets to Doncaster and wins hard held!

It's a cracking meeting at Doncaster starting on Wednesday and there are a few bets planned so do check back as the week progresses. If that's not enough for you  Leopardstown stages the first day of Irish Champions Weekend on Saturday with the Irish Champion Stakes the race of the day with the action moving to the Curragh on Sunday with the Irish St. Leger the main event.

Hold on to your hats, it could be a busy few days!
