The horse racing week ahead

As the cold snap hits the UK, frosty morning at Triple G Towers today, hopefully we won't lose too many meetings to the weather over the coming days. It's so far so good with all the meeting going ahead on Monday not that I fancy anything.

They won't be worried about freezing temperatures at Meydan for the Dubai Carnival and they race again in Friday with the Group Two Cape Verdi the main race on the card.

The Winter Million festival kicks off at Lingfield Park on Friday as well with some decent looking fields having been attracted by some big money pots up for grabs; over £1 million over the three-days. They race over the obstacles on Friday, Saturday is a Flat card on the Polytrack and Sunday we're back to the Jumps. ITV will be at the track on all three-days.

Come Saturday we should get to see the stars of the two-mile Chase division with Jonson and El Fabiolo due to clash in the Grade One 2m1f Clarence House Chase at Ascot; they also have the Grade Two Mares Hurdle on the day. It's an early start Saturday with the meeting at Lingfield Park on the All-Weather due to start at 10.10am - apparently the first race will be shown on ITV4 with the coverage of the afternoon meetings on the main ITV channel.
