The horse racing week ahead
I mentioned in the post on Sunday what a poor run I have been on, I did at least put a plaster over the bleeding with a couple of winners out at Deauville on the afternoon. The Ebor Festival is at York next week and a certain amount of time over the coming days will be spent looking ahead to that I must admit.
As for this week quite a bit of my attention will be across the Channel again in France. There will be clues for the Group One Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Tuesday with Ace Impact due to run in the Group Two Prix Guillaume d'Ornano at Deauville. The three-year-old will be long odds-on to continue his unbeaten run having taken the G.1 Qatar Prix du Jockey Club last time out; they also host the Group Three Prix de Lieurey. Here in the UK Salisbury has it's moment in spotlight with a couple of Listed races and two Group Three heats midweek. The Curragh and Newbury host the big races come the weekend. The Group Two Hungerford Stakes will see the seven-furlong specialists in Berkshire whilst unsurprisingly the 7f Coolmore Stud Wootton Bassett Irish EBF Futurity Stakes at the Curragh has some big name two-year-olds in the entries with some well-bred two-year-old fillies likely to line-up in the Alpha Centauri Debutante Stakes as well.
Deauville is centre of attention on Sunday again with the Group One Prix Morny the main event where we are likely to see Aidan O’Brien's unbeaten River Tiber and the Christopher Head-trained Ramatuelle race amongst others.
No bet for me on Monday but I will be getting involved as the week goes on.
Be lucky
