The horse racing week ahead

I will be having a few days rest and recuperation at Triple G Towers early this week with not very much floating my boat as far as having a bet is concerned; after a few days where the Bookies have definitely gotten the better of me perhaps not a bad thing!

Sandown will take centre stage at the weekend with the Coral Summer Festival on Friday and Saturday the main event of course being the Coral Eclipse. It's Ladies Day on Friday with a decent card and then Saturday we have the Group One Coral Eclipse without doubt one of the highlights of the summer and the first time the Classic generation goes up against the older horses head-to-head. Forty-eight are still entered for the Group One as I write with Emily Upjohn heading the market and Paddington the shortest priced three-year-old. Haydock hosts the Group Two Lancashire Oaks.

Elsewhere in the world we have the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud across the Channel on Saturday whilst over the pond the Belmont Derby and Belmont Oaks are the races of the weekend in America, both run on Turf, with the Derby the first of the Turf Triple series over in the States. There are a couple of raiders likely making the trip from these shores for the big purse and I have one pencilled in for a bet. Come Sunday the 7f Prix Jean Prat is the race of the day in France at Deauville.

Be lucky
