The horse racing week ahead

Not a bad weekend for me with a couple of winners across the pond at Belmont Park insuring I nicked a couple of bob, not as much as I had hoped, but a couple of bob is a couple of bob.

To a certain extent all roads lead to Royal Ascot at the moment but there are a couple of bets to be had later this week all being well to hopefully bolster the bank for the big meeting next week.  On Wednesday the picture for Royal Ascot will begin to become clearer as we have the confirmations for the Queen Anne, King's Stand and St James's Palace Stakes. Supplementary entries can still be made for the Group One contests, while entries for Tuesday's other races will also be revealed. Confirmations and entries for the rest of the Royal meeting will then be announced Thursday (for Wednesday), Friday (for Thursday) and so on. Newbury, York and Sandown all have half decent cards in the coming days plus there is some Pattern action at Leopardstown and Cork in Ireland. Come the weekend there is the Listed Scurry Stakes at Sandown on Saturday and the Listed Grand Cup at York.

With all due respect to the meetings that are on this weekend the big news will actually be the declarations for day one of Royal Ascot that will be announced on Sunday.

Be lucky
