The horse racing week ahead

I had a winner and a loser from two bets over the weekend, which on a weekend when there were plenty of tricky races and potential traps for punters I was happy enough with nicking a small profit - Sovereign Prince did win on Sunday in Meydan but was odds-on and went unbacked by me. Tahmuras was pretty impressive taking the Tolworth, as predicted, and looks likely to go for the Supreme at the Festival with Paul Nicholls saying after "He'll be entered in the Supreme and Ballymore, but I wouldn't be keen for him to take on Hermes Allen. It would be pointless for them to take each other on." I am convinced he'll be better over further and could make a good Chaser and he is one I will be keeping on side in the future.

It's a quiet week ahead with a fairly light schedule made thinner still by the fact we have already lost Leicester (Wednesday) and Bangor-on-Dee (Thursday) to waterlogging. Even the weekend is fairly standard stuff though Warwick and Kempton do host a couple of races that could be decent if everyone shows up. The weather is set to be wet and windy but hopefully not too bad. They race again on Friday out in Dubai at the Dubai World Cup Carnival where the Group Two Al Rashidiya is the race of the day.

Be lucky
