The horse racing week ahead

A winning weekend with Raymond Tusk victorious but it could have been so much better with the two Godolphin ones finishing second – Finespun held a nose and Spectrum Of Light coming-up ¾ length too short!

It is a quiet start to the week for me with no fancies Monday or Tuesday. The Jumps meeting at Lingfield has been abandoned on Tuesday with the track not raceable due to standing water in places; the All-Weather meeting for Wednesday is of course fine and that is where I am likely to have my first punt of the week.

The racing this week builds to the big Ascot meeting at the weekend with the Long Walk Hurdle the main event. We then have the little Christmas break after Saturday with no racing again until the big meetings Boxing Day with plenty to look forward to at Kempton and Leopardstown.
