The horse racing week ahead

A decent day betting on QIPCO British Champions Day for me on Saturday with three of the five winners being backed. There were a couple of surprises but the day can be like that.

We find ourselves in that time of the year as the Turf season winds down and the Jumps season begins in earnest. This is perfectly illustrated by the fixture list this week with Doncaster hosting the Group One Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes on Saturday for the two-year-olds whilst they race at Cheltenham on Friday and Saturday with their Showcase Meeting.

It's not always the best time to be betting heavy as the Flat horses come to the end of a long season and the Jumps runners are starting out on their new-season campaigns; you can expect a few funny results over the coming days and weeks.

Not bet for me on Monday but I have my eye on a couple as the week goes on.

Be lucky
