The horse racing week ahead

A quiet start to the week with no fancies on Monday; truth be told after the five-days of Goodwood a day off won't hurt. Great fun at Goodwood but sadly it was ultimately a losing week for me with the wheels coming off on Saturday when I could not find a winner having been ticking over nicely all week.

They have a quality meeting at Deauville on Tuesday that I may have a go at but the week here in the UK is fairly basic stuff it has to be said; in fact there are no Pattern races at all until Saturday and then only three races on Saturday. There are one or two potential bets all the same so do check back regularly as naturally any punts I do have this week will be up on here first.

The Shergar Cup returns to Ascot at the weekend with it's six handicaps, worth £42,000 each in prize-money, and the teams of jockeys competing for points to land the trophy. As I have said before its a bit of fun but for betting purposes, in my opinion, generally left best alone.

Be lucky
