The Cesarewitch Handicap ante-post bet

The  two-mile-two-furlongs Cesarewitch Handicap is a race I have had ante-post punts on in the past and there is one that has peaked the interest of myself and a couple of my cohorts for this years renewal to be run at Newmarket in October.

Run For Oscar is the horse to be on, available at around 10-1 as I write and seven-year-old looks a solid each-way punt. He was being aimed at the Irish version but with the cash that has been thrown at that race this year, it's worth €600,000, the world and their wife have horses entered and a rating of 100+ looks likely to be required to stand a chance with the likes of Group winner Raise You heading the weights. Run For Oscar has been rated as high as 147 over the sticks and his Flat rating of 90 means he is pretty much guaranteed to get in the Newmarket race (37th on the list at this time) with a relative fly-weight to carry. I think this one could go off far shorter come race day so now is the time to get on.

After his last win over two-mile at Haydock trainer Charles Byrnes said  "We'll probably go for the Cesarewitch if he gets in as I think the race will suit him. We'll consider Newmarket as the Irish one will be fiercely competitive this year, with the prize-money and everything, and although he'll go up a few pounds, he wasn't anywhere near getting in that before this."

Be lucky
