Son of Galileo sells for 3.4 million Guineas

Business was brisk, to say the least at the opening session to Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in Newmarket on Tuesday (9th October). The headlines were made when Coolmore's MV Magnier dug deep for the most expensive yearling sold in the world for 2018 so far, a brother to Sir Isaac Newton, Secret Gesture and Japan, fetching a cool 3,400,000 guineas.

The colt is a son of Galileo and by Shastye, he is the fourth seven-figure yearling she has produced by my research. Secret Gesture did, of course, go on to sell for $3,500,000 at the end of her career to John Ferguson so the family are proving to be money spinners.
