Oisin Murphy to ride over the hurdles and what horseracing meetings are on in the coming days

Mr Oisin Murphy, three-times Champion Flat Jockey, makes his debut riding over hurdles at Wincanton on Thursday.  Speaking to the Jockey Club, the Qatar Racing-retained rider said "Jump racing has always been part of my life and it has always been a burning ambition of mine to ride in a jumps race. I took out a jumps licence earlier in the year as at one stage it looked like I might get a ride in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. It would be an amazing feeling to get a winner over jumps and I'm not looking beyond Thursday at the moment – I just hope I don't embarrass myself!" During one of his recent enforced holidays from race riding he did a lot of  show jumping and joked about riding over obstacles on his return to the Flat earlier this year and the rumour Nicky Henderson had promised him a few rides on his return to race riding.  Cian Collins will be giving him the leg-up on Lets Do This in the Danny McNab Bookmakers "National Hunt" Novices' Handicap Hurdle.

Having lost the meeting at Haydock on Wednesday at the moment everything appears okay for the meetings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday though Huntingdon's Peterborough Chase card on Sunday must pass a 2pm inspection on Thursday due to heavy rainfall.
