Newbury Saturday Declarations including the Greenham Stakes

Expert Eye will face seven rivals in Saturday's Al Basti Equiworld Supporting Greatwood Greenham Stakes at Newbury. Sir Michael Stoute's colt, who made a successful debut at the Berkshire circuit last June, looked every inch a top-class horse in the making when dominating his rivals in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood. However, he trailed home last of nine runners when odds-on for the Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket and, as a result, he heads into his three-year-old campaign with something to prove.

Expert Eye is a best-priced 10-1 for the Qipco 200 Guineas ahead of his return.

His rivals include Harry Dunlop's Group Two-winning colt Fighting Irish, George Scott's Mill Reef scorer James Garfield and James Tate's Hey Gaman, who won the Listed Denford Stakes over this course and distance last summer. The David O'Meara-trained Cold Stare, Clive Cox's Connect and Doncaster maiden winner Raid from David Simcock's yard complete the line-up.

The fillies get their chance to stake a Classic claim in the Dubai Duty Free Stakes - better known as the Fred Darling. The highest-rated runner in an 11-strong field is Roger Charlton's Gavota, who was placed in the Rockfel and the Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket at the end of her juvenile campaign. Other contenders include Tajaanus, trained by Richard Hannon, and Ed Vaughan's course-and-distance winner Hikmaa.

Group Three honours are also up for grabs in the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Stakes - registered as the John Porter.

Just six runners go to post, with Call To Mind, who is trained by William Haggas for the Queen, taken on by Roger Varian's Defoe, Richard Hannon's Danehill Kodiac, Stoute's Autocratic, the Mark Johnston-trained Titi Makfi and What About Carlo from Eve Johnson Houghton's stable.
