Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings – Winx officially highest ratedts

So Winx is officially the best racehorse in the world – well according to the latest Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings – as she is rated 130 a pound clear of now-retired dirt champion Gun Runner who was rated 129 when taking the Pegasus World Cup earlier this year. Cracksman is on 125 and third on the list with the rest of the top-ten being Justify and West Coast 124, Benbatl, Happy Clapper, Thunder Snow, and Trapeze Artist 123 followed by Hawkbill and Mendelssohn 122 (based on performances between 1st January and 6th May 2018)

It’s a real shame that Winx won’t be coming over for Royal Ascot, she has notched up 25th consecutive wins, 18 Group 1’s, but I can’t shake that nagging doubt that she hasn’t been tested against the best of the best. Sorry, any readers from down under but that's the way I see it.

2,000 Guineas winner Saxon Warrior is on 121 meaning the Kentucky Derby win of Justify is deemed 3lb superior to the Newmarket race. I wouldn’t mind betting Saxon Warrior is rated the higher come the end of the year as I was very impressed with his Guineas win and surely he has more to offer when he steps-up in trip.

Last years winner Hugh Bowman sits atop the current Longines World’s Best Jockey standings with three victories. The scoring for the award is based upon performances in the 100 highest-rated Group 1 and Grade 1 races established for the year by the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings Committee.
