Horse racing Tuesday 26th October 2022

There is one due to run at Newcastle on Wednesday that I have talked of before in the shape of  Ruling Dynasty in the 1m2f Top Odds Every Day With BetUK Novice Stakes at 4.45. I mentioned the three-year-old chestnut gelding on his belated debut at Leicester back in April when he finished second at odds-on. At that time he still held a Derby entry which now looks wishful thinking as he makes his second appearance on the Tapeta in Geordieland!  As I said before he is by 2,000 Guineas & Lockinge Stakes winner Night Of Thunder out of twice raced Singspiel mare Indian Petal and he is a half-brother to four winners, most notably multiple Group winner, including G.1 Dubai Sheema Classic in Dubai and G.1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes in Canada, Old Persian. The pedigree is full of middle-distance names of the past and he may yet prove a decent racehorse but unsurprisingly he is long odds-on and unbackable again here. Make a note of the name though as he might be one to follow over the winter if Charlie Appleby and the team decided to campaign him on the All-weather.
