Horse racing news Wednesday 3rd October 2018

A very quiet week for me so far, I have never been one to punt for the sake of it, and simply nothing has jumped off the page at me or the horses I was watching aren't running. For example, Royal Marine had a couple of entries but isn’t taking up either.

In the news Irish and Yorkshire Oaks winner Sea Of Class has, as expected, been supplemented for Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after the most recent entry stage on Wednesday morning. The filly is certainly bred for the job being by Sea The Stars out of the great broodmare Urban Sea who of course also win the race in 1993. She will, of course, get all the weight allowances being a 3yo filly but still has to improve again to trouble Enable on OR’s.

Limini is one name that stood out to me of the fifty-seven remaining entries for the Cesarewitch at Newmarket later this month. The Rich Ricci-owned seven-year-old mare was twice placed at the Galway Festival on the Flat in the summer and got her head in front in a valuable handicap on Irish Champions Weekend recently. She is around 12-1 behind the market leader and stable-mate Stratum.
