Horse racing news Tuesday 28th August 2018

It’s one of those weeks in horse racing when there are quite a few meetings but nothing to really set the pulse racing in anticipation. I have a couple of possible bets as the week progresses should the animals in question line-up so stayed tuned as they say.

Even the racing news is all about what may or may not happen this weekend and beyond. One story that did catch my eye is Too Darn Hot will be looking to follow up his debut success at Sandown by returning to the Esher track for the Group Three 188Bet Solario Stakes at Sandown on Saturday. The full-brother to classy performers So Mi Dar and Lah Ti Dar is already second-favourite in the ante-post market on the Investec Derby behind the Aidan O’Brien-trained Anthony Van Dyck. Odds-on in his maiden earlier this month he trotted up by seven lengths, though the rest of the field don’t look likely to be world beaters. We will learn a lot more about his ability on Saturday.
