Coral PR director Simon Clare is far from happy with how long the stewards inquiry took after the Coral-Eclipse on Saturday with ITV coverage going off air before the result was officially announced and the presentations made. I for one would have been very surprised had the placings been reversed but Donnacha O'Brien, rider of Saxon Warrior, did all he could to convince the stewards he had been interfered with to the extent it affected the result and you can hardly blame him for that.

Harry Angel will not be defending his crown at Newmarket this Saturday in the July Cup as he needs more time to recover from the cut leg he sustained when beaten in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes. Hats off to the trainer Clive Cox for letting punters know nice and early. Redkirk Warrior and Sands Of Mali are both reported fir and well by connections and both should line-up on Saturday.
