Horse racing news Monday 19th November 2019

The announcement most of us have been waiting for has been made - dual Arc heroine Enable will stay in training and target a historic third victory in the race next season.

The news was revealed today (Monday 19th November) by Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to her owner Khalid Abdullah.

Reportedly no schedule has been set but the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe would be the prime target. No horse has ever won the Arc more than twice and Prince Khalid is the joint-leading owner in terms of the number of wins now with six, joint with Marcel Boussac, so if she can do it they will be breaking two records come October 2020. It is something to look forward to over the winter.

William Buick has been on his travels of late and was celebrating another big winner out in Japan this time on Sunday as he rode Stelvio to success in the Grade 1 Mile Championship at Kyoto.

Samcro is likely to run next in Newcastle’s Fighting Fifth Hurdle, having missed the Unibet Morgiana Hurdle at the weekend, setting up a potential clash with dual Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D’Air on Saturday 1st December.
