Horse racing news Monday 18th January 2021

A quick look ahead this morning at the horse racing we have to enjoy this week and a cheeky ante-post punt for a few weeks time.

The horse racing week ahead

Plenty of racing this week with some nice handicaps to get your teeth into over the jumps. There is also naturally plenty of All-Weather action and the Dubai Carnival officially gets underway out at Meydan on Thursday. As you would expect Saturday is the big day and Ascot and Haydock stage some very nice cards with Ascot hosting the  Grade 1 Clarence House Chase alongside other graded races. As it stands we could see Politologue, Defi Du Seuil and 2019 Arkle winner Duc Des Genievres in a mouth watering clash. Haydock has four Grade Two races and dual Champion Hurdle hero Buveur D'Air should make his return to action in the New One Unibet Hurdle.

Dubai World Cup 2021

Benbatl was being aimed at the Dubai World Cup last season before the Dubai Carnival was cut short, like so many other meetings last year, due to the Covid pandemic. You can be sure the big race on Saturday 28th March will be the aim again this year and I am on at 100-30 antepost.
