Horse racing news from this weekend and for the week ahead

It is a fairly low key week in the horse racing world even into the weekend with a couple of Group Three’s at Sandown and a Listed heat at Chester the main events. The Group 3 Betway Solario Stakes is the headline act with an impressive list of recent winners including Kingman, Masar and Too Darn Hot. Is there a potential Classic winner lurking in the entries this year?

They race at Triple G’s local track Chelmsford City on Thursday and Saturday and there are a couple entered-up that I am keeping my eye on as if they run I will almost certainly be backing them. I also fancy one at Kempton on Wednesday evening so remember to keep checking back as any bets will be found here first.

Looking ahead a little, Enable remains very much on target for her date with destiny at Longchamp on the 6th October. Logician, tipped on here when winning the G.2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York, tops the lists for the Group One St Leger in a couple weeks and with Japan apparently heading to Longchamp now the unbeaten Gosden trained colt is likely to only get shorter. One that won't be at Doncaster is Spanish Mission with connections aiming their charge at the new million-dollar race at Belmont the Jockey Club Derby run over 1m4f on the Turf  where hopefully they hope he will get the fast ground he prefers.

Last Look won again for me at Ffos Las on Friday, if this full-sister to Farhh is not in your notebook yet get her in there – I am convinced she will be picking up black-type before the season finishes.
