Horse racing news and the week ahead Tuesday 6th April

It's a pretty decent week of horse racing ahead of us with the Randox Grand National Festival very much taking centre stage.

The horse racing week ahead -  Randox Grand National Festival

The three-day Randox Grand National Festival gets underway on Thursday with Racing TV showing coverage and ITV are showing five races on free to air TV from the meeting each day. They have a number of big races each day with the Grade One Betway Bowl Chase perhaps the highlight on the Thursday possibly having Clan Des Obeaux, Tiger Roll and Native River lining-up. The big one is of course the Grade Three Randox Grand National Handicap Chase on the Saturday due off at 5.15. Right now I have a shortlist of about ten including Bristol De Mai and Secret Reprieve to name but two. I will naturally be looking at the meeting in more detail as the week progresses. There is also a fair meeting at Nottingham on the Turf on Wednesday and potentially a couple of bets on the All-Weather later this week so stay tuned as they say.

Be lucky
