Horse racing news 5th February 2020

Good morning dear reader. A quiet start to the week for me, i would have backed Ladyleys Beluga today from my notebook but she is odds-on up at Southwell.
I was sadden to read  Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning trainer Robert Alner has died aged 76; he sent out Cool Dawn to win the 1998 renewal.
Top turf performer Benbatl looks to advertise his Dubai World Cup claims when he races on dirt for the first time in the extended nine-furlong G2 Al Maktoum Challenge - Round 2 at Meydan tomorrow. Thursday’s Dubai World Cup Carnival fixture also features the mile G3 UAE 2,000 Guineas on dirt, I will be getting involved in the card so stayed tuned as they say.
