Horse racing Monday 10th August 2020

Shocking weekend for me there is no other way to describe it; six bets, all losers, with them finishing 4th, 6th, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 4th.  It happens but none the less annoying for it!

Reportedly Enable is set to miss York's Ebor meeting and a potential clash with Love in the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks next week with connections plotting a different route to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. A shame as it could have been a cracking race but in the back of my mind, I always thought it might happen, the big guns rarely face-off until they have to unfortunately.

Stunning Beauty was entered for the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Dick Hern Stakes at Haydock at the weekend but goes to Leicester for the mile Thank You Owners For Supporting Racing Novice Stakes at 4.30 on Monday instead. She is a half-sister to four winners out of the G.3 winning mare Short Skirt who was also trained by bin Suroor after Godolphin bought her out of the yard of Sir Michael Stoute. I had her pencilled in for the weekend with a chance but she is unbackable today at long odds-on. Remember the name though.

Just about all the Pattern race action in the week is in Ireland and I will possibly be getting involved in a couple of races out there as well as a couple of bets possibly here in the UK. The big weekend meeting here is Newbury with ITV on course both Saturday and Sunday plus there is another big meeting at Deauville on Sunday at which some big names may run.

Be lucky
