Horse racing at Nottingham in the UK and Maisons-Laffitte in France

Race of the day in the UK on Wednesday is the Listed Barry Hills Further Flight Stakes over 1m6f at Nottingham due off at 3.05. It looks to be at the mercy of G.2 Lillie Langtry winner Pilaster. She was tried at the highest level in the G.1 Fillies' And Mares' Stakes last back end and arrives here clear top rated. This looks a nice race to kick her season off in and she, of course, gets the weight from the boys. Unsurprisingly she is long odds-on and not worth backing.

Out in Frace, they have the Listed Jacq. Laffitte Stakes at Maisons-Laffitte due off at 4.37. I mention this as the grey filly Broderie lines-up, a horse I tipped up on her winning debut at Lingfield back in February 2018. She won her first two starts, following up at Chelmsford after the Lingfield win, and put in solid efforts in defeat the next twice; she was then well beaten at Newmarket in October 2018. The filly moved from Charlie Appleby across the Channel at the end of last year and won on her French debut for the yard of Henri Pantall at Chantilly last month. She may finally fulfil her potential out in France and I will be backing her as and when the Bookies chalk-up the race later today.

Be lucky
