Hayley Turner facing BHA hearing

I couldn’t help but giggle at the story breaking today in regards to Hayley Turner and her internet betting account. She will now face a British Horseracing Authority disciplinary panel hearing on 14^th December. The account was not opened until she retired from race riding at the end of the 2015 season but technically she still held a licence meaning she was in breach of the Rules of Racing in regard to licensed jockeys having betting accounts.

I think we can safely say she was not using any privileged inside information; according to reports she placed 164 bets over a year-and-a-half for a profit of £160.

I hope she gets nothing more than a slap on the wrist and if need be a minimal fine as quite frankly there are a lot more dubious characters in the game that we should be going after!

Yes, she has made a ricket but let’s be honest here no harm has been done; she didn’t even win enough to pay for the Triple G bar bill at an average midweek meeting down at Lingfield on a cold day in January!!!!!!
