Happy Valley Hong Kong Wednesday 29th March 2017
I have not had the best of
months in March thus far, I suffered a poor Cheltenham
like so many others and Dubai World Cup night wasn’t very kind either!
A faint heart never won fair lady though and it is Wednesday so it’s Happy Valley in Hong Kong with two bets for me today.
I have put up Giddy Giddy twice this year in the old colony when he finished third on 25th January and second on 8th March. He is out again today in the second race on the card the Matheson Handicap at 12.45 our time. The Roan coloured five-year-old has been going well without winning but has the ideal draw in two today and I would expect to see Olivier Doleuze kick him off to lead from there and then it’s just a case of holding the pursuers off. You can get 6-1.
In race three at 1.15 is the John Peel Handicap Hot Hot Pepper isn’t drawn wonderfully in stall 11 but the five-year-old knows only one ay to run, out fast and keep going. He has been caught off the final turn plenty of times but this does mean he has dropped down the ratings a bit and he might just be on a mark (51) that he can hold on carrying. Keith Yeung Ming-lun gets the leg-up rather than usual jockey Zac Purton and he takes off a handy 2lb as well. At 12-1 he is worth a speculative punt.
Be lucky
