Happy Valley Hong Kong Thursday 20th April 2017

They race at Happy Valley on Thursday this week out in Hong Kong and they get underway with the Aberdeen Handicap at 12.15 our time. Nothing for me in that race but I do fancy two on the card.

Over at Happy Valley Hong Kong Fish N’ Chips has a chance in the fourth the Siu Sai Wan Handicap at 1.45. The six-year-old isn’t ideally drawn but has enough early zip to get into a decent position from stall nine. He has winning form at this trip here, usually runs at Sha Tin, and at the price of 10-1 is worth a punt.

Having had a nice bit of Fish N’ Chips what better way to wash it down than with a little alcoholic beverage.

The lucky last is at 3.50 and is the So Kon Po Handicap; a horse I backed last time out in March in the old colony is due to line-up in the shape of Wisky. Magic Man Joao Moreira is booked to ride and he was in the saddle when the five-year-old chestnut gelding last won here over the 1,650 back in February. He could try to take the lead or sit in just behind the pace, depending how it goes at the start from stall ten, and is fancied to nick this with a bit of luck. You can get 6-1.

Be lucky
