Derby Day - best bets for the horse racing Saturday 4th June
It is Derby day! All my thoughts on the big race at Epsom can be found over on the Classics page. As for the rest of the card and the meetings across the UK today my thoughts follow.
The mile Group Three Princess Elizabeth Stakes looks a competitive race but there is one I think should be backed. Majestic Glory get the weight allowance as a three-year-old meaning on OR's she is well-in against most of the field. She ran against some of the best as a two-year-old and he seasonal debut in the 7f G.3 Dubai Duty Free Stakes was a fair effort over a trip that's probably on the sharp side for her now. It's a bit of a speculative one but I have the 10's early about the daughter of Frankel in the first-time hood.
The Group Three 1m½f Cazoo Diomed Stakes is at 3.10 and I have to be on Modern News here. Another I have followed from the Charlie Appleby yard and they have brought him along fairly slowly but the four-year-old chestnut looks ready for Group class now following his easy win in the Listed Fitzdares Royal Windsor Stakes last time. I have 13-8 this morning.

they get underway at 2.00 with the 1m2f Cazoo Handicap with fourteen going to post. I have followed Blue Trail pretty closely and I think the son of Teofilo can win this. Having won a couple on the All-Weather he was third in the mile Esher Cup last time on what was his turf debut. Best bet for the horse racing at Doncaster
There is one I have to be on up at Doncaster in the 7f Cazoo Novice Stakes at 4.51. I have kept an eye on the Juddmonte homebred Thesis before and the son of Kingman can get off the mark at the third time of asking. The colt has placed on all three starts thus far, just beaten last time the front two having pulled clear of the field, and with that experience under his belt and the application of a first-time tongue-tie he is fancied for this at the 11-10 this morning.Be lucky
