Daban To Transfer To Newmarket Equine Hospital

Daban will be transported back to Newmarket within the next few days as she continues her recovery from a fractured pelvis.

The John Gosden trained three-year-old sustained the injury shortly after exiting the stalls in the Group Three City Of York Stakes last Friday (tipped on here) on what was her first start since finishing sixth in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. Daban will not run again this season and will be taken to the Newmarket Equine Hospital for further treatment.

Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Abdullah Saeed Al Naboodah, said: "She has fractured her pelvis but it is not as bad as it was first thought as it was not near an artery. When it is close to an artery you have got the risk of puncturing one. She won't be running again this season but it is too soon to say if she will ever run again. If she is ready to run next year that will be up to John to decide and how she recovers over the winter."
