The 3m1f Grade One Betway Bowl Chase at Aintree on Thursday is arguably the race of the three-day festival with some proper good ones lining-up. Waiting Patiently, Tiger Roll, Native River and Clan Des Obeaux are officially rated within 3lb of each other and this should be a cracker.
I have taken a punt on Tuesday afternoon on my old mate Clan Des Obeaux at 5-2. Second in this race when last run in 2019 the two-time King George winner hasn't got his head in front this season but has hardly been disgraced in his three runs and can gain that much deserved victory here. Cheekpieces go on for the first time just to sharpen him up you presume and all being well they'll do the job.
