Best bets for the horseracing Friday 22nd September 2023

Following on from a fantastic Wednesday over at Yarmouth with four winners courtesy of Charlie Appleby and William Buick I am getting involved again on Friday following a bit of a lazy Thursday with nothing much floating my boat; it did give me a chance to count all my winnings.

Best bets for the horseracing at Kempton Park

My man Charlie Appleby had three entered in the 7f Unibet Zero% Mission/British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes at the meeting and just the one runs now; Edge Of Blue made a winning debut at Yarmouth on Wednesday and Military Leader is a non-runner. Age Of Baroque lines up in the 5.15, division II of the race to make his debut. A €575,000 yearling son of Lope De Vega out of an unraced Galileo mare who is a  full-sister to multiple G.1 winner Golden Lilac . A lot to like on paper and the yard is bang back in form. I am on at 15-8.

Appleby and Buick will be hoping for a quick-fire double with Whispering Words in the mile Unibet More Extra Place Races Fillies' Novice Stakes at 5.45. She returned to action after her one run at two to get off the mark over a mile at Newmarket last month, she carries a penalty here for that victory. 5-4 is about and I have that as I think she looks a very solid bet. Venus Rosewater is the obvious danger and is shortening in the market.

Be lucky
