Best bets for the horse racing Wednesday 9th June

As I mentioned earlier in the week it is a quiet few days for me in the build-up to Royal Ascot next week but a couple of two-year-olds do run on Wednesday at Haydock that should be backed. They won’t be huge prices, in fact both shorter than I expected, the Bookies got no balls these days,  but all being well they can both notch their first victories and will add a little to the kitty for next week.

Best bets for the horse racing at Haydock

Hello You won convincingly on debut at Wolverhampton and was immediately getting quotes for Royal Ascot; from that race on the Tapeta White Jasmine also caught my eye. Coming from even further back than the winner to finish second having blown the start entirely from a wide draw and racing towards rear early she made decent headway entering final furlong, not knocked about Ben Curtis as she clearly weren’t catching the winner. The grey Filly is by Dark Angel that top-class two-year-old and leading sire of sprinters out of White Daffodil, a fair handicapper in her day and winner at two herself. She is a full sister to Listed winners Log Out Island and Khaadem both rated 100+ at their best and also winners at two. The 6f Steve Taplin Memorial EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes at Haydock due off at 2.00 looks an ideal opportunity for her to get off the mark. You would expect her to come on for her debut run at Wolverhampton and with Curtis in the saddle again, provided she gets the start right, I think she can take this and have 11-8 overnight.

Straight after at 2.35 we have the 7f Watch Racing TV Now Novice Stakes. I tipped Albahr on debut at York where he was third having somewhat missed the break and clearly in need of some experience; actually, did well to finish third for one so green. A son of Dubawi out of Falls Of Lora making him a half-brother to some decent ones including G.1 winner in Australia Cascadian he will surely be a lot better for the experience and the extra furlong here will suit. I am on again at Evens. 350,000 Guineas yearling purchase Kingman colt King of York  as an interesting newcomer.

Be lucky
