Best bets for the horse racing Wednesday 3rd August

A couple from me on Wednesday evening at Kempton Park, I have tipped them both before and both are ones I noted to keep on side.

Best bets for the horse racing at Kempton Park

The first race of interest to me is the 5.50 the mile Unibet Horserace Betting Operator Of The Year Novice Stakes. I tipped Border Edge when he won at Nottingham over eight furlongs on his second start having made his belated debut at Doncaster in a decent Novice won by Maljoom prior to that. He looked to have come on plenty when winning at Nottingham and this nicely bred gelding can be expected to have too much for this line-up. I am on at 11-8 overnight.

The next race is the 6.50 the 7f Unibet/British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes for the two-year-olds. I tipped Silver Knott on his debut at Newbury last month where he was a promising fourth of twelve. I said at the time this colt has some bloodstock royalty on his page, it isn’t surprising he cost 725,000 Guineas as a yearling. By Lope De Vega, the French 2,000 Guineas and Derby winner, he is out of God Given, a multiple Group winner in her day, and another that should progress with Shamardal and Nathaniel as grand-sires – Shamardal was also of course Champion two-year-old. You'd expect him to have learnt from that debut run and he can open his account on this at the Evens that is available overnight.

Hopefully a nice little Charlie Appleby, William Buick double to pay for a midweek beer or two.

Be lucky
