I am having a bet over at Chelmsford City this afternoon and Newcastle this evening.
The first bet is in the 3.00 Totetrifecta Pick The 1,2,3 Handicap. Godolphin owned Chestnut filly Ocean Of Love is very lightly raced for a four-year-old and broke her maiden at Wolverhampton over 1m4f in December on her fifth outing. She had been going close prior to that, two seconds at Dunstall Park, and went well here over 1m5f back in October prior to that. The similarities in tracks between Chelmsford and Wolverhampton, both left-handed ovals, is seen as a positive as is the fact she likes to be up the pointed end, a positive at both venues. The Saeed in Suroor yard has hit some form over the last ten days or so and this filly is open to plenty of improvement yet being related to several winners. Garb the 7-2.
Up at Newcastle they get underway at 4.05. One in the 5.45 the seven furlong 32redsport.com Handicap caught my eye in the entries and I am happy to see will be lining up. The grey gelding Windsor Cross put up his best performance to date winning over track and trip earlier this month with the Visor on for the first time. His two career wins have been over this C&D, headgear remains on tonight and the 3lb rise in the weights shouldn’t be a problem if he arrives in similar mood. Get on at 5-4.
