Best bets for the horse racing Wednesday 24th May

I said on Monday it would be a quiet start to the week and so it has been but there is one out on Wednesday that I have to back.

Best bet for the horse racing at Yarmouth

State Of Desire is a son of Frankel out of winning mare Desirous and as such a runner for Godolphin with pretty much entirely Juddmonte blood coursing through his veins. A 400,000 Guineas purchase he had three entries this week at Yarmouth on Wednesday, Haycock Thursday and Goodwood Friday and he is off to the seaside Wednesday afternoon. The Colt goes in the 6f  British EBF 40th Anniversary Novice Stakes at 3.10. Nine line-up and as only two have every run before there is basically no form to go on but the Charlie Appleby trained two-year-old is the obvious standout on breeding and for me has to be backed. The Bookies aren't taking chances, he is 6-4 best overnight, but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes off shorter than that. A number of his close relatives were decent two-year-olds not least his Sire Frankel and Grandsire Galileo and Grandsire on the dam side Kingman! I am on.

Be lucky
