Best bets for the horse racing Thursday 26th July

There are two Godolphin ones out today that I have had on my mind for a couple of days, one from Charlie Appleby at Newbury and one Saeed bin Suroor sends to Doncaster. Unfortunately, they are both odds-on this morning but a double should prove the way to go.

Appleby has Leading Spirit in the Alexander Advertising Nursery at Newbury at due off at 7.45. 8-13 early he looks fairly treated on handicap bow and the son of Exceed And Excel should progress again having been gelded since his fourth place at Windsor last time.

Bin Suroor saddles 10-11 shot Right Direction for the Owlerton Greyhound Stadium Sheffield Novice Stakes at Doncaster just after at 8.00. Only twice raced 4yo she fluffed her lines somewhat on debut in June but showed improvement when runner-up over track and trip on her second start 3 weeks ago. The patience shown with her should pay off and all being well it will be a case of third time lucky.

The double pays 2.08-1 at these prices.
