Best bets for the horse racing Thursday

Two bets from me for Thursday, been a far busier week than I anticipated, one out in France and one making debut here in the UK.

Dirty Dozen member Tarnawa is out in Ireland but is long odds-on in the Group Three Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown.

Best bet for the horse racing at Deauville

One of the Dirty Dozen is off on a day trip Thursday with One Ruler due to run in France at Deauville in the Listed Prix Arqana - Prix de Tourgeville - Fonds Europeen de l'Elevage at 5.25. The colt hasn’t reached the heights I expected of him having run sixth in the G.1 mile 2,000 Guineas (tipped on here) and G.1 Derby over 1m4f before seventh in the G.3 Hampton Court Stakes over 1m2f at Royal Ascot and then third in a Listed heat at Newmarket over a mile last time. I remain convinced he will win races and the mile at Deauville on soft all looks very much in his favour to get back to winning ways. I have the 13-8 overnight Wednesday evening.

Best bet for the horse racing at Sandown Park

A son of Frankel out of the winning mare Mirabilis Westover had three entries this week and the race he goes for to make his racecourse debut is the British EBF Maiden Stakes at Sandown over a mile due off at 6.27. He is a full-brother to Monarchs Glen and Fabilis and half-brother to three other winners. Ralph Beckett and the team are in fair form and you would expect this one to be ready to go on debut. Rob Hornby is in the saddle and I am prepared to take a chance he’ll know his job on his first run. 3-1 is the best early price I can see Wednesday and I have taken that.

Be lucky
