Best bets for the horse racing this Thursday 22nd July

It has been a very quiet week for me so far with not a bet placed as of yet; I am having a go Thursday though. There is plenty of action including a couple of Group Three’s out in Ireland though ‘the lads’ from Baldoyle looks to have those two races well sewn-up. I am backing two at Sandown that I have been keeping an eye on this season.

Best bets for the horse racing from Sandown

Charlie Appleby had the three two-year-olds Kings Guard, Modern Games and New Mission all entered up in the same races at Doncaster and Sandown on Thursday (Modern Games and New Mission also at HQ for the 7f Betstival Season At MansionBet British EBF Maiden Stakes on Saturday). Just the one runs in the 1.35 at Sandown the 7f Martin Densham Memorial EBF Maiden Stakes and it is Kings Guard. He currently has two little ducks next to his name having finished strongly when second over 6f in a Novice Stakes at Nottingham on his debut; then tried to make all at Kempton later the same month over six again caught close home. On breeding step-up in trip should suit and it should be third time lucky for the son of Oasis Dream and I have the 3-1 overnight. Several of the newcomers are certainly worth watching and the Queens colt Dukedom is another for the shortlist.

Later on the card at 2.10 they have the 7f Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Star Stakes in which Wild Beauty takes another step-up in her blossoming career. Unbackable last time odds-on, I did give her a mention on here, this is the obvious next level for her after two wins following her debut sixth over an inadequate five furlongs. By Frankel out of Listed winner Tulips you’d hope she’d pick-up some black-type as she matures and she does have Group One entries for the back end of the campaign. She can take this on her way to those bigger targets and I am on at the 3-1 again overnight. Inspiral will no doubt be popular having won on debut at Newmarket last month in what looks a fair maiden and is feared.

Be lucky
