Best bets for the horse racing Saturday 29th April

The British and Irish jumps seasons both come to an end Saturday with Finale day at Sandown and day five of the Punchestown Festival over the Irish Sea.

Best bet for the horse racing at Sandown Park

Jonbon steps up from the Novice Chase division to take on the big boys in the Grade One two-mile bet365 Celebration Chase at 1.40. On official rating he has 9b to find with Greaneteen but he won at Aintree as he liked last time and was far from disgraced when second in the Arkle (I tipped him) at Cheltenham behind El Fabiool, who won again at Punchestown the other day hard held. Henderson was playing his cards close to his chest earlier this week as to whether he would run but run he will and that could be seen as a tip in itself as old Nicky aint one to take a chance with his horses. 11-10 is a bit skinny but I have it.

Best bet for the horse racing at Punchestown

The race of interest to me out in Ireland is the 3.50 the Grade One 2m3f Coolmore N.H. Sires Mogul Irish EBF Mares Champion Hurdle. I wonder if Brandy Love can reverse the Cheltenham form with Love Envoi, Queens Brook and Echoes In Rain on the better going. I tipped her at Cheltenham and she never really got in the race on the soft going there on the Tuesday. Prior to that she had made her seasonal reappearance in the G.2 Quevega Mares Hurdle here at Punchestown when third, giving away in excess of half-a-stone to the opposition. Her win at Fairyhouse over 2m4f in the G.1 Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final last April was impressive, Love Envoi second, and I think she can take this with the faster underhoof conditions in her favour. I am on at 13-2

Be lucky
