Best bets for the horse racing Friday 29th January 2021

The one to watch from the horse racing at Lingfield Park

At 3.30 we have the 1m2f Ladbrokes Watch Racing Online For Free Novice Stakes.  I have tipped Tamborrada twice, on what was to be his debut but he did not run at Chelmsford in December and then when he did finally appear as a three-year-old here at Lingfield over C&D on the 4th January; he won I am glad to say despite being a little green at times. As I have mentioned before by Dubawi, who needs no introduction, his half-brother Morning Shadow didn’t achieve much on track but the dam Elle Shade did win a race and is by champion two-year-old and French Guineas & Derby winner Shamardal out of G.1 winner Elle Danzig so there is plenty to like in the pedigree. This looks a bit of a 'penalty kick' as they say as you would expect improvement for that first run and he is priced accordingly long odds-on on the early shows. Well worth a watch though and he might be one for the Finals Day come Easter if he progresses as I think he may and Tean Godolphin fancy a go at the Three-year-old Championship with him.

Best bet for the horse racing at Wolverhampton

Charlie Appleby sends Colour Of Light up to Wolverhampton in the evening to make her debut in the 6.15 the  1m½f Ladbrokes Watch Racing Online For Free Fillies' Novice Stakes. Next to no form here with a bunch of late developing three-year-old fillies it would normally be the sort of race I'd watch rather than bet in but 9-4 is around this morning and that looks fair value. Kestenna will be jolly, odds-on early, having been second on debut here over a mile. She missed the break and stayed on into second late but it was a fast run race and I am not sure if she wasn't just passing tired average horses. I'll take her on at the prices.
