Best bets for the horse racing at Longchamp Sunday
It's a lovely Sunday morning down at Triple G Towers and even lovelier over in Paris with temperatures set to reach thirty in the late summer sunshine. They have a decent card at Longchamp and I am getting involved across the channel.
Skazino and Moon Wolf fought out a finish at Saint-Cloud earlier this season and were second and fourth at Deauville last time out. The pair are consistent types who look closely matched and are likely to be fighting out the finish of the 1m7f Group Three Prix Gladiateur at 1.30. Skazino came out on top at Saint-Cloud and was second at Deauville giving away weight to the field. Back at level weights the advantage looks to be with Skazino and I am on at 2-1.
Race of the day is the mile Group One Prix du Moulin de Longchamp at 3.33. Big Rock was beaten on his last two starts, finishing second in both the Prix du Jockey Club and Jacques le Marois, but that's not exactly poor form when you consider it Ace Impact and was Inspiral that beat him, and this looks a great opportunity to get back in the Winners Enclosure. A shade odds-on at 10-11 he looks a solid bet.
